Our collaboration with Lexa involved developing an intelligent AI legal assistant that transforms how law firms and SMEs approach contract drafting and document management. We built a sophisticated AI-powered platform that serves as a virtual legal assistant, providing real-time contract analysis, automated document generation, and intelligent legal recommendations. The platform combines advanced natural language processing with collaborative editing capabilities, enabling legal professionals across Asia and the Middle East to draft, review, and manage contracts with AI-driven insights while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and compliance.
Technical Challenges
Real-time Collaborative Editing: Building a robust real-time collaboration system required implementing Y.js with WebSocket connections to handle simultaneous editing by multiple users without conflicts. We developed custom TipTap extensions for pagination and advanced document structuring, ensuring professional legal document formatting while maintaining real-time synchronization across all connected clients. Advanced Document Architecture: Legal documents require sophisticated multi-page layouts with precise formatting, headers, footers, and pagination. We created a custom document engine that handles complex legal document structures while preserving formatting integrity during collaborative editing sessions and providing seamless export capabilities.
Platform Development
Full-stack Legal SaaS Architecture: We built Lexa using Astro 5.13 with React 19 components, creating a highly performant and scalable legal platform. The architecture includes advanced state management with Nanostores, comprehensive authentication systems, and a sophisticated document management vault. The platform supports multiple languages and includes AI-powered features for contract intelligence and automated workflows. Security and Compliance Implementation: Given the sensitive nature of legal documents, we implemented enterprise-grade security measures including GDPR-compliant data handling, encrypted document storage, and secure digital signature capabilities. The platform includes comprehensive audit trails, version control, and access management systems to meet strict legal industry requirements.
